HOPE is Good Business

Wichita State University’s Suspenders4Hope® campaign is empowering employers to make mental wellness part of everyday business. Its simple message — Share. Ask. Support. — helps employees talk about mental health, check in with one another, and connect to resources before crises occur.

The program offers free online training, conversation guides, digital toolkits, awareness materials, and Hope Kits that promote daily grounding and self‑care — all available at suspenders4hope.com.

Already embraced by organizations such as Ascension Via Christi, Wesley Healthcare, and Thrive Restaurant Group, Suspenders4Hope® is expanding statewide through a partnership with OneRise Behavioral Health. Wichita State has also launched the nation’s first executive MBA course in mental wellness as a business strategy.

Employers have a vital role to play. With most adults spending the majority of their waking hours at work, supportive leadership can directly influence wellbeing, retention, and performance. Research shows that every dollar invested in mental health generates a fourfold return through improved outcomes.

This Suicide Prevention Month, leaders can take one simple step: start the conversation. Explore free resources and training at suspenders4hope.com and help make your workplace a place of hope, connection, and support.
