Suspenders4Hope® from the Start
Suspenders4Hope® started at Wichita State University in 2015 when WSU counseling services was awarded the SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith Campus Suicide Prevention grant in order to develop a local preventing suicide program. From that grant, the Suspenders4Hope® campaign and Preventing Suicide Training was born. This was WSU’s promise to support their students’ mental well-being and those experiencing mental health struggles, the same way that suspenders might support one’s pants. Now, you can help support your community or organization with the Suspenders4Hope® comprehensive prevention approach. We continue to be affiliated with the University and we are committed to developing quality, engaging, evidence-based content at an affordable price for anyone interested in supporting community mental health and preventing suicide.
