If a student indicates they may be struggling, help connect them to academic and non-academic resources that can help get them back on track, such as Counseling, Student Health, Advising, or another office that may be able to assist them. Offer to walk with them or help them schedule with those resources, and then continue to check back.

If a student doesn’t want to seek assistance at that time, give them links or contact information for resources, and encourage them to reach out.

Support is not a one-and-done interaction. This step is ongoing as long as you work with your students: seek ways to assist their academic careers and mental wellness by connecting them to resources.
